1. Class and Medium
Admission to this Boys' Residential School for the session (2010-11) is open to Class V, both Bengali and English Media. Being a residential school, all the boys are to live in the hostels. Boys are admitted here after admission tests, both written and oral.
2. Eligibility :
Persons having faith in the objectives of the Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission are expected to seek for Admission of their wards.
Boys reading in Class IV or V are eligible for admission test for class V.
Age : Between 9 and 10½ years of age as on 1st March, 2010 (or, born in between 01.09.1999 and 28.02.2001).
For Bengali Medium, boys should secure 65% marks in Bengali and English & 75% marks in Mathematics in their last Annual Examinations.
For English Medium, boys should secure 65% marks in Bengali or Hindi and English & 75% marks in Mathematics in their last Annual Examinations.3. Date of Issue from 01.02.2010 to 15.02.2010 :
Application Forms, etc. will be issued on all working days between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. and again between 2 p.m. and 3-30 p.m. from 1st February, 2010 to 15th February, 2010 from the Vidyalaya Admission Office on showing the original / attested copies of Age Proof Certificate and Progress Report. Application Forms are not sent by post.
The cost of Application Form, Prospectus and an outline of Syllabus and Sample Questions including the Registration Fee amounts Rs. 150/- only.
Parents or the legal guardians living in distant places may collect the Application Forms etc. through their local guardians or representatives on showing the original / attested copies of the Age proof certicate and Progress Report.4. Date of Acceptance from 10.02.2010 to 17.02.2010:
Original Application Forms duly filled in by the parents themselves or legal guardians (not local guardians or representatives) along with the attested copies of Age Proof Certificate and Progress Report will be accepted on all working days between 12 noon and 3-30 p.m. from 10th February, 2010 to 17th February, 2010. Applications sent by post are not accepted.
5. Admission Test :
Admission Test for the boys of English Medium will be held at Narendrapur Centre only on Saturday, the 20th February, 2010 at 12-30 p.m. The same for the boys of Bengali Medium will be held on Sunday, the 21 st February, 2010 at 12-30 p.m.
There will be three papers of examinations carrying 150 (Bengali / Hindi : 50; English : 50; Mathematics : 50) marks in total. The duration of examination for each is 45 minutes.
A list of the candidates selected for the Oral Test will be published in the Notice Board of the Vidyalaya within a fortnight or so, after the Written Test.6. No admission is made against receipt of donation in cash or kind.
7. Financial assistance is given to a few meritorious boys belonging to financially handicapped families.
8. Approximate charges to be paid at the time of admission are Rs. 7,000/- only. Monthly charges are Rs. 1,600/- only (subject to change) at present.
